About this program
The proposed cooperative agreement is a renewal of the existing CAP supporting key stakeholders in retail food safety to coordinate and advance retail food protection in the United States. The intended outcome of this NOFO is to collaboratively advance retail food safety initiatives to reduce food-borne illness. This cooperative agreement is intended to advance practices in retail food protection, conduct research related to such practices and identify opportunities for collaboration to reduce the occurrence of food-borne illness risk factors.
Who can apply
Others (see text field entitled "Additional Information on Eligibility" for clarification). Competition will be limited to non-profit national organizations affiliated with one or more institutions of higher learning whose membership includes state, local, tribal and territorial regulatory personnel whose primary duties include retail food safety, as explicitly permitted by the grant-making provisions of FSMA (21 USC 399). These organizations are well situated to assist FDA in leveraging state and local jurisdictions to advance retail food protection and reduce the national burden of foodborne illness and injury.
