About this program

Type 2 awards fund up to $160M over ten years with staged gate reviews at years two, four and seven.
Who can apply
Coalitions led by universities, nonprofits or companies anchored outside established tech hubs. Each Engine must span research, workforce and translation partners within a coherent region.

Register your organization, complete the online application form, and upload a project narrative, budget and supporting documentation before the deadline. Late or incomplete submissions are not reviewed.
