Stephen Lewis Fellowship in HIV/AIDS Research - Research Manitoba Stephen Lewis Fellowship in HIV/AIDS Research Established in honour of the late Stephen Lewis, the Stephen Lewis Fellowship in HIV/AIDS Research supports an exceptional postdoctoral researcher dedicated to advancing the understanding, prevention and management of HIV/AIDS in Manitoba. Throughout his career, Stephen Lewis was a passionate advocate for global health, equity and action in response to HIV/AIDS. As Canada’s ambassador to the United Nations, the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for HIV/AIDS in Africa and co-founder of the Stephen Lewis Foundation, he helped bring international attention to the scale of the HIV/AIDS crisis and the urgent need for increased funding, access to treatment and community-based supports.
